The Monroeville Public Library will be open for CONTACT-LESS PICKUP & RETURNS ONLY.


When materials are ready for pick up, we will call you to let you know your materials are available.


Please do not come to the Library if you have not received a call that your items are ready for pick up!


The Book Drop is also OPEN.

The hours for pick-up are as follows:

  • Mon. 10-11am (At-Risk Patrons)
  • Mon. 11a-4p (all patrons)
  • Tue. 10a-7p
  • Wed. 10a-1p
  • Thur. 10a-7p
  • Fri. 10a-4p

At Risk Patrons: This includes seniors, or people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions which places them at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. During this hour, we will only allow 1 patron in the Gallery Space at a time.


Contact-less pickup is only for patrons that have been called and told their requests are available.


Copying/Printing/Fax services will also available in the Gallery Space.


Staff is currently extremely limited, and we appreciate your patience as we work through the backlog of items that have accumulated in the past months.


We are going to make the following services available as soon as possible (as time and returning staff allow):

  • New requests by phone (starting June 22)
  • Books by Mail (starting June 22)
  • Public Computer usage (starting July 13)
  • Browsing by appointment (End of July)

The Monroeville Public Library book drop is open.


The return of ANY checked out materials can only be made in the book drop, located the upstairs main entrance vestibule.

Because we need to quarantine your items, they’ll remain on your card until we can safely handle them.

Be a Superhero for the Library!


The Friends of the Monroeville Public Library are sponsoring the virtual Super Hero Run/Walk between Saturday, July 18th and Saturday, August 1st to benefit the Monroeville Public Library.


During these two weeks participants can safely run or walk: Any Distance. Any Time, Any Distance, Any Place.


Registration: $20 (13 and up) | $5 (12 and under)

The Library will continue to offer the following:


• AUTOMATIC RENEWALS! Items are renewed 2 days before their due date.


• FINE FREE! We are a fine free Library.  There are no overdue charges for items returned after their due date.


• The library is available 24/7 through our website and apps.  If you would like to read books, listen to books or music, or stream video – you can do it all from home with your library card.  if you do NOT have a library card you can get one at this LINK and enjoy on-line materials immediately!


• Check out our libraryanywhere page for streaming content.


• Pre-recorded, online video programs are available through the Library's Facebook and Youtube pages. Visit the Library's Facebook page for more information.


• No physical items will be available to pick up or deliver to the library. If you have an item currently on hold, the hold will be frozen and your item kept on the shelf until such time as we reopen.


• No fines on any overdue items will accrue. Please do not return any items at this time, as all doors and dropboxes are locked.
